Dr Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Latin American Studies at Bristol University. He has researched Colombia and Venezuela since 2000, with a particular interest in relations between military and paramilitary forces, and between guerrilla groups, civilians and the state. He also focuses on foreign involvement in internal conflicts. He is prepared to discuss writing expert reports on Colombia on a variety of topics.
