ASRC has cared for and assisted more than 3000 asylum seekers by providing material aid and support services. They are an independent, Victorian Incorporated organisation founded in response to the inhumane treatment of asylum seekers in Australia. ASRC’s Welfare and Advocacy programs provide essential services which clients would otherwise be denied, and strive to ensure a fair outcome for all Asylum Seekers. These include casework, counselling, Human Rights Law and health. The Community Development programs work on capacity building to ensure that Asylum Seekers can participate fully and independently in the wider community. This includes Employment Assistance, English Language Classes, English Home Tutoring and a Small Business Unit.
