The Croatian Red Cross (CRC), with the support of the UNHCR and the Ministry of Interior, provides social services to asylum seekers and provides services in their asylum reception centres. Services provided in the asylum centres include the following: psychosocial support, humanitarian aid, specifically tailored care for vulnerable groups, restoring family links, organisation of social activities, sports, and educational activities, language courses, activities with local communities, provision of information and referral and need- based advocacy.

The CRC provides support to persons granted international protection during the process of integration and facilitates their access to basic services such as health, social services, education and employment. Other activities include prevention of human trafficking and assistance to victims, psychosocial support to potential victims of torture, humanitarian aid and psychosocial support to migrants in detention.

During refugee crises, the CRC assumes a significant role as one of the leading humanitarian organisations working with the government, other NGOs and international/UN organisations.
