The site AsylumInfo.be provides basic information to asylum seekers arriving in Belgium on asylum procedures, housing, education, work, and other critical aspects of life in Belgium. The website was created as a joint effort between Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen, Coordination et Initiative pour Réfugiés et Etrangers (CIRE), Refugees Welcome, and Community Support for Refugees in Belgium.

The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) has issued a Country of Origin report on the security situation in Pakistan. The report includes an overview of recent security trends, the impact of the violence on the state ability to secure law and order, the impact of the violence on the civilian population and a geographical overview of the security situation.
Journal of Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Law publishes new issue
The Journal of Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Law (JIANL) has published its latest issue. The issue features articles on the operation of the new enhanced non-suspensive appeals regime in immigration cases; the role of Turkey in the current European migration agenda, the concept of “precariousness” in the context of ECHR Article 8 jurisprudence on removals and the status and future prospects for detailed fast-track process, in light of its recent suspension.

Guide for Afghan youth in the United Kingdom who are Appeal Rights Exhausted (APE)
The Refugee Support Network has released a guide for practitioners working with Afghan youth in the United Kingdom who have exhausted their right to appeal (i.e. are Appeal Rights Exhausted, APE). The guide provides information on resources, particularly in the London area, that may be helpful for youth in preparing for the alternatives they face, including the possibility of enforced return.

Regional Mixed Migration Secretariat (RMMS) Mixed Migration Monitoring Mechanism
The Regional Mixed Migration Secretariat (RMMS) has launched an interactive data visualization and mapping website to disseminate information gathered through RMMS’ Mixed Migration Monitoring Mechanism Initiative (4mi). Began in 2014, 4mi uses a network of 30 locally-recruited monitors in strategic migration hubs to track migration trends among Eritrean, Ethiopian, Djiboutian and Somali communities. The 4mi website shares mapping and infographics of the latest 4mi data and is currently in beta form.
United Kingdom Home Office Country of Origin Information Update: Eritrea
The United Kingdom (UK) Home Office issued an August update to its country of origin guidance regarding military service in Eritrea. The updated report reflects the findings of a UK fact-finding mission to Eritrea in February 2016 as well as the June 2016 report of the UN Commission Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea.
UNHCR publishes progress report on global detention strategy
This mid 2016 progress report on the global strategy to end the detention of asylum seekers and refugees provides background information on the strategy (2014-2019) as well as statistics on the use of detention and an update on each of the focus countries involved. This report also identifies issues of concern and the next steps for the strategy.
