Dr. Barstow is Assistant Professor of Religion at Otterbein University, where he teaches courses on Tibetan and Chinese religion, Tibetan history and Buddhist ethics.  He has publications and translations covering both contemporary and historical Tibet.  He lived for four years among Tibetans in Nepal, and has conducted several periods of field research inside Tibet itself, with a special focus on the eastern Tibetan region of Kham.
