Dr Krasniqi is the Alexander Nash Fellow in Albanian Studies at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London, in London. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh. In addition, he has a BA from the University of Pristina and two Master’s Degrees from the European Regional Master’s Degree in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna) and Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, respectively. From 2009 to 2014 he worked on the Europeanisation of Citizenship in the Successor States of the Former Yugoslavia project at the School of Law, University of Edinburgh. He is the country expert for Kosovo and Albania for the European Union Democracy Observatory on Citizenship in Florence. He has published numerous articles on citizenship related issues and has served as a country expert for Kosovo and Albania for a number of law firms in the UK.
