Dr Nicholas Argenti has conducted research in Cameroon in the 1990s, focusing in particular on the social consequences of political violence, changing power relations in small-scale rural communities, tensions between youth and elders, and the interconnections between local and national political systems. He has published many articles on Cameroon and The Intestines of the State: Youth, Violence and Belated Histories in the Cameroon Grassfields, 2007, Chicago University Press.
