Ms Rebecca Gang is a researcher/consultant with the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU), where she focuses on investigation of state and non-state dispute resolution practices across the country. She has been working on programs related to rule of law, legal aid/legal access, and legal development in Afghanistan since 2006. She has worked for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)’s Information Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Program in Herat, Pul-i-Khumri and Kunduz, focusing on resolution of displacement-related land and family disputes through both state and non-state mechanisms. Ms. Gang worked as Advisor to the Afghan Independent Bar Association (AIBA), an organisation that was also the focus of her LLM thesis. Ms. Gang gained experience researching COI reports regarding Afghan refugees in Pakistan with the UNHCR in Pakistan.
