IRRI uses empowering, people-centred, contextual methodologies and interventions to improve people’s lives, and reaffirm their dignity, rights and agency. On of the ways in which we achieve this is through advocacy at national, regional, international levels, including strategic litigation & curated advocacy spaces, like our policy labs. Over the last 18 years, IRRI has distinguished itself in advocacy at the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region, at the African Union, at the UN and at other global spaces. Our direct advocacy to policy-makers ensures that their decision making is informed by the, often absent, perspectives and concerns of those directly impacted by those decisions. This dynamic approach reflects our experiences of how change is best achieved on the sensitive and complex issues IRRI works.
