IRRI website privacy policy

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register and give consent to receive email updates from us. This may include your name and email address as well as your IP address.

In addition we collect anonymised website usage information, which is collected using Google Analytics. This helps us improve our website.

How will we use the information about you?

We use information collected from your subscription to the website mailing list to send you email updates about materials uploaded to the website. Emails are serviced by Mailchimp. You may opt out from future emails at any time. If you no longer wish to receive email updates from us, please click the link at the bottom of the email you received from us or send us an email.

We will not share your information for marketing purposes with other organisations without your explicit consent.

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you or to ask us correct or remove any information we hold on you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email us at info@refugee-rights.org. We will provide a copy of the information free of charge. However, we may charge a “reasonable fee” when a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, particularly if it is repetitive. Information will be provided without delay and at the latest within one month of receipt.  If you request us to delete personal information, we commit to do so within a maximum period of one month from the date of the request.

All reasonable precautions are taken to prevent unauthorised access to this information. This safeguard may require you to provide additional forms of identity should you wish to obtain information we hold about you.

Cookies

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org. You can set your browser not to accept cookies and the above website tells you how to remove cookies from your browser. The IRRI website does not use cookies, however, please be aware that some third party applications related to the IRRI site do.

Data collected in the EU is held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679; we aim to apply the same standards to other data.
