IRRI website privacy policy

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register and give consent to receive email updates from us. This may include your name and email address as well as your IP address.

In addition we collect anonymised website usage information, which is collected using Google Analytics. This helps us improve our website.

How will we use the information about you?

We use information collected from your subscription to the website mailing list to send you email updates about materials uploaded to the website. Emails are serviced by Mailchimp. You may opt out from future emails at any time. If you no longer wish to receive email updates from us, please click the link at the bottom of the email you received from us or send us an email.

We will not share your information for marketing purposes with other organisations without your explicit consent.

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you or to ask us correct or remove any information we hold on you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email us at We will provide a copy of the information free of charge. However, we may charge a “reasonable fee” when a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, particularly if it is repetitive. Information will be provided without delay and at the latest within one month of receipt.  If you request us to delete personal information, we commit to do so within a maximum period of one month from the date of the request.

All reasonable precautions are taken to prevent unauthorised access to this information. This safeguard may require you to provide additional forms of identity should you wish to obtain information we hold about you.
