Editor-in-Chief Rights in Exile Newsletter

Fiona co-edited the Rights in Exile newsletter for six years before becoming the publication’s Editor in Chief. She has practiced law in various states in the USA and served as a Legal Advocate at Africa and Middle East Refugee Assistance in Cairo, Egypt, where she represented clients in Refugee Status Determination cases before UNHCR. She taught at Northwestern University in Chicago and Bahir Dar University Law School in Ethiopia before migrating to Sicily in 2015 due to her professional interest in Europe’s refugee crisis. Fiona is now based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She attended Harvard University, University of Virginia School of Law and Northwestern University Law School, where she completed an LLM in International Human Rights Law.
