Editor Rights in Exile Refugee Legal Aid Newsletter, 2019–Present
Lucia completed her MA degree in International Criminology at the Free University of Amsterdam (2016), for which she conducted ethnographic research into the rights and reception of unaccompanied migrants in Eastern Sicily during the Italian migrant crisis in 2015. She gained an undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology & Development Sociology from the University of Amsterdam (2013). In 2016, she interned as a human rights researcher for the War Crimes Unit of the Dutch National police. Afterwards she lived in Italy where she worked with boat refugees in Bologna. Currently she is based in the Netherlands where she works with undocumented migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees as a case manager for the national organisation for the reception of asylum-seekers (COA).
