Sirak Akalu Iyassu

Sirak is a lawyer, a writer and a social entrepreneur from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He obtained his BSc in computer science from Bahir Dar University and his law degree from Saint Mary’s University. He has authored two books, one about the environment and the other about arbitration. His interest in forced migration arises from his upbringing in the Horn of Africa, where civil war and famine have triggered massive and recurring population movements. As a polio survivor, he is particularly interested in disability rights and their intersection with migration issues. He is fluent in Amharic and Tigrinya.
